New Poem: She found me in the thinning of my days
She found me in the thinning of my days
010807
She found me in the thinning of my days
Cared for my bandaged heart
Surprises me not
fearing to hear my last laugh
She held me in the creeping of the dark
Shining my thick eyeglasses light
Never leaving our bed as we read
fearing to miss my last smile
She had me again in the dying of my fire
when hands, tongue and talks suffice
Laying her head on my loosely muscled arms
As we wait for the dawn to come
I lost her one morning in a false joy of the day
I bandaged again my heart too late
On the carpeted floor we lay
Her hand was already cold, as my warmth dissipates.
